{"id":785,"date":"2016-02-13T03:44:46","date_gmt":"2016-02-13T03:44:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/?p=785"},"modified":"2020-01-06T18:42:58","modified_gmt":"2020-01-06T18:42:58","slug":"could-following-current-appearance-trends-affect-sexual-harassment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/es\/could-following-current-appearance-trends-affect-sexual-harassment\/","title":{"rendered":"Could Following Current Appearance Trends Affect Sexual Harassment?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just about everyone wants to hear what\u2019s going on with celebrities; from the latest trends to various outfits, what they are eating, where they are shopping, what they are reading\u2026and the list goes on.<\/p>\n<p>The latest celebrity buzz is about Kim Kardashian and her newest hairstyle.\u00a0 Kim K. like many other stars remarkably appreciates how to change up her locks the same way she switches up her attire.<br \/>\nWhile Kim K. may have remained somewhat under the radar since giving birth to her second child, Saint West back in December, when seen, she\u2019s usually observed as sporting French braided pigtails.\u00a0 According to her, this is done in an effort to let her hair grow out and avoid putting heat on it.<\/p>\n<p>But as of recently, we\u2019ve seen a very different yet somewhat familiar look on the reality TV star.\u00a0 It seems as though Ms. Kardashian West has gone back to donning hair draped in platinum blonde.\u00a0 The last time we saw this look was in March of 2015 during Paris Fashion Week. \u00a0Back then just as quickly as her blonde locks surfaced, almost immediately her hair returned to its signature dark chocolate brown color.<\/p>\n<p>Kim\u2019s platinum hair made its debut at her husband\u2019s Kanye West&#8217;s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show and The Life of Pablo album release party taken place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday. In addition to her platinum blonde hair, she graced the event with an oversized white fur coat and she bared enough skin to keep the Kardashian name something to talk about.<\/p>\n<p>Kim K.\u2019s newly re-surfaced blonde look has caused much stir amongst her fans that seem to have mixed opinions about it.<\/p>\n<p>While I may be feeling a bit on the fence about the 35-year-old\u2019s mane of snowy strands, I must admit that it did have me thinking about another topic\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/sexual-harassment\/\">acoso sexual<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Many people would debate the topic of workplace sexual harassment, arguing that current appearance trends may have an impact on how a co-worker, a supervisor or someone else in the workplace would view and even treat an employee.<\/p>\n<p>There was an article published in the Daily Mail in December about a female security guard who claimed she was being sexually harassed on her job because she had blonde hair and big boobs.\u00a0 She said that she was disgusted by the sexual harassment she was subjected to at her job. \u00a0She alleged on one occasion, a male coworker said he wanted to <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/sexual-harassment\/unwelcome-request-for-sex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">F*** all day and rub chocolate <\/a>all over her body.\u00a0 When she reported it to her boss, he dismissed her comments saying \u201cwhat do you want? You\u2019re an attractive woman with blonde hair and big boobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are some who seem to believe that a person\u2019s physical appearance gives them the authority to behave in a certain manner towards that person thus dictating an <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/sexual-harassment\/hostile-work-environment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">environment of hostility<\/a> or peace.<br \/>\nI disagree.\u00a0 I believe that everyone is entitled to a workplace free of bitterness and opposition, an atmosphere to foster production, positive influences, and creativity.\u00a0 I do not for one minute believe that anyone\u2019s appearance should affect how another person in the workplace treats him or her.<br \/>\nMost people would agree that businesses desire prosperity, whether it is monetary or otherwise.\u00a0 Employees are hired by businesses to help them achieve that success. \u00a0If that is the case, then my point is simply being validated by what the law states about an employee\u2019s entitlement to a peaceful workplace and that employer ultimately having the burden to provide such.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Is your work environment peaceful and free of hostility or are you the victim of sexual harassment or discrimination?<\/h2>\n<p>It is illegal to harass a man or a woman based on that person\u2019s gender.\u00a0 Harassment includes requests for sexual favors and other physical or verbal harassment of a sexual nature.\u00a0 However harassment does not have to be sexual in nature, it may simply be offensive.
