{"id":781,"date":"2016-02-15T03:17:19","date_gmt":"2016-02-15T03:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/?p=781"},"modified":"2019-12-11T16:38:35","modified_gmt":"2019-12-11T16:38:35","slug":"i-bet-you-have-a-big-dick-forever-21-manager-said-to-employee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/es\/i-bet-you-have-a-big-dick-forever-21-manager-said-to-employee\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cI Bet You Have a Big Dick\u201d Forever 21 Manager Said to Employee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Forever 21 store located in Kings Plaza, NY is in hot water due to an employee saying that he experienced both <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/race-discrimination\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">racial discrimination<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/sexual-harassment\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acoso sexual <\/a>from the managers there.<\/p>\n<p>Mikael Louis filed suit in the Eastern District of New York Court claiming that he has been the subject of harassment since his onset of employment there in January 2014.\u00a0 One of the managers allegedly commented \u201cI love muscular black guys like you\u201d and \u201cI bet you have a big dick\u201d<br \/>\nAccording to the lawsuit, that same manager Patrick Walmsley showed cell phone videos to Louis of him having sex with other men. He also referred to him as \u201cHoney.\u201d<br \/>\nAs if addressing an employee with the name \u201cHoney\u201d wasn\u2019t enough, another manager, Andy Liu had a name for him also.\u00a0 He called him \u201cNutella.\u201d<br \/>\nLouis did not like the offensive name and immediately confronted Liu about it asking him \u201cWho are you calling Nutella? My name is Mikael.\u201d<br \/>\nThat same manager would also refer to black people as \u201cghetto\u201d and told Louis to look out for them in the store since they were known to steal.\u00a0 He also told Louis not to put any black employees on the register because they would steal money.<br \/>\nLouis concluded his employment with Forever 21 in April 2015.\u00a0 He says he just couldn\u2019t take it anymore \u201cI felt so uncomfortable. It\u2019s not that I wanted to leave but at a certain point, I had to go.\u201d<br \/>\nHe now works as a nurse technician and is seeking unspecified damages from the retail giant.<br \/>\nThis isn\u2019t the first time the Kings Plaza store has violated employment laws. It turns out that last year a transitioning transgender woman filed suit against the company.<br \/>\nAlexia Daskalakis, 22 filed suit last spring indicating that the same manager, Patrick Walmsley subjected her to <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/sexual-orientation-discrimination\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sexual-orientation discrimination<\/a>, making comments against her trans identity and eventually terminated her without a cause. She was told to contact Human Resources to find out why she was fired but when she did that, they never returned her phone calls.<br \/>\nHer case is still pending in the Eastern District of New York Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is unacceptable,\u201d said the attorney who represents both Daskalakis and Louis \u201cThere is obviously something seriously wrong at Forever 21, as this store location and these managers have now been accused by two employees of everything from racial bigotry and racial profiling to sexual harassment, transphobia, and <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/retaliation\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">retaliation<\/a>.\u201d<br \/>\nForever 21 was founded in 1984.
