After attempting to return to work after the Thanksgiving holiday, he was surprised to discover that he was being<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2014\/12\/12\/the-bank-is-closed-for-hsbc-sex-harass-accuser\/\">barred from entering<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>the building.<br \/>\nThe 47-year-old Picarella originally filed the lawsuit with claims that the bank had <a href=\"\/es\/wrongful-termination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">retaliated<\/a> against him unfairly after he and one other HSBC employee alerted higher-ups to one supervisor encouraging a female employee to \u201cdress provocatively\u201d and to sleep with one of the company\u2019s senior bankers. According to the lawsuit, the young female employee was the <a href=\"https:\/\/discriminationandsexualharassmentlawyers.com\/employment-law\/new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">victim of sexual harassment<\/a> on numerous occasions, and was also routinely spanked and once nearly had her top ripped off of her by her boss, Eileen Hedges.<br \/>\nPicarella claims that he was demoted from sales executive to junior banker after reporting the incidents to human resources. When he attempted to return to the building on December 1 after the holiday weekend, fellow employees were streaming into the building but he was not allowed into the building.
